VINILI e VINELLI is a 3-days celebration of music, wine and culture taking place during the harvest season in the scenic hills of Carezzano (Tortona, Italy) on the 6th, 7th, 8th of September, 2024 . Music, art and wine are the canvas on which the local identity of the region blends with outside visitors.

We invite artists to join us on the opening day of the festival, Friday, September 6th, as we embark on a hike through the vineyard-draped hills of Carezzano and Costa Vescovato. Along the scenic 6km trail, an open-air art gallery will come to life, showcasing a diverse array of plastic and visual art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and immersive installations.

In a way that transcends traditional tourism, VINILI e VINELLI is more like visiting an old friend that you haven’t seen in a long time.

Behind the charming scenery of the hills of Tortona, there are stories of generations cultivating vineyards since hundreds of years, of champions writing the history of cycling, of the heterogeneity that only a place sitting between mountains, sea and cities can produce.

During the first weekend in September, the small village of Carezzano will become a playground for experimentation, a space to explore

• Playfulness
• Wine and rural tradition
• Cultural innovation

Artists are encouraged to reflect these values in their proposals, proposing works that resonate with the festival's themes and leave a lasting impact on both the landscape and the hearts of our audience.

Available Slots

A limited number of slots are available for artists to showcase their work in the open-air art gallery. Submissions will be evaluated based on artistic merit, relevance to the festival's themes, and suitability for outdoor display.

Compensation

Selected artists will receive:

• Full access to the festival, including all musical performances, wine tastings, and cultural activities (meals excluded)
• Additionally, artists will be granted access to the festival's camping facilities for the duration of their stay, allowing for a truly immersive experience of the region
• Connecting with fellow participating artists

Artwork Specifications

• Dimensions: Artists are encouraged to adhere to a minimum and maximum size requirement for their submissions, ensuring compatibility with outdoor display spaces and for appropriate transportation.
• Weight: Due to logistical constraints, artworks must not exceed a specified weight limit. Additional details regarding weight restrictions will be provided upon request.
• Transportation arrangements for delivering and installing artwork will be the responsibility of the selected artists. However, logistical support and guidance will be provided by the festival organizers upon request, ensuring a smooth and seamless process.
• Artworks must be delivered for installation during the week preceding the festival, allowing ample time for setup and preparation. Further instructions will be provided.

Submission Guidelines & Selection Process

Interested artists are invited to submit images or descriptions of their existing projects along with a brief artist statement highlighting the relevance of their work to the festival's themes.

Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of festival organizers and representatives from our partner wine producers. The selection process will prioritize:

• Artistic excellence
• Alignment with the festival's vision
• Feasibility of execution

Selected artists will be notified via email and provided with further instructions for participation.
In case you are selected and have already purchased a ticket, we will refund it at the end of the festival.
